i spent this past memorial day weekend at a very packed jalama beach park (santa barbara county). it was windy. really really windy. in fact, the wind only subsided for a few hours over the 4 nights that i camped there. needless to say, the surf was blown out and beach activities were limited to quick walks between campsites. we found that the nearby ranch land was a viable option for exploring rather than getting sand-blasted on the beach.
